COLUMBIA LAW SCHOOL LATINO/A LAW STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
CLS LaLSA strives to promote understanding of the Latino community by sponsoring academic, professional, cultural, social, and community service activities for our members as well as Columbia Law School's general student body.
We are committed to advancing our members' goals by serving as a liaison between them and the Columbia Law School administration, the general student body, alumni, and other professionals in the legal field.
We welcome all Columbia Law School students, faculty, and alumni to participate in our group.
FIRST ANNUAL ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
In an effort to connect CLS LaLSA members of the past and present, this year CLS LaLSA will publish its first annual alumni newsletter. The digital publication will update members on the past year's events, and highlight their accomplishments.
On October 14, 2016, we celebrated our 12th Annual Awards Banquet at the Columbia Club of New York. This year we honored three notable alumni. Melissa Raciti-Knapp (CLS ‘93), Partner and Head of the Latin America Practice at Freshfields Brockhaus Derringer, and Angela Fernandez (CLS ‘98), Executive Director of the Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrants Rights, each received a Distinguished Alumnus Award. David Morales (CLS ‘12), Staff Attorney at the Northwest Justice Project, received the Rising Star Award. Thank you to all who attended our event, as well as those who sponsored it.
